AM Estimator

This position is involved in the estimating, pricing, budgeting and quoting of architectural millwork for commercial construction projects.

General Responsibilities:

  • Review of scope and specs of projects being estimatated. Prepare accurate scope take-offs and costing
  • Prepare and execute pricing proposals for all quotes and budgets
  • Track and update status of all proposals
  • Assist project managers with handoffs of awarded projects
  • Work with General Manager and Production Manager on production schedule
  • Build and/or strengthen relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assist and public relations and sales
  • Problem solving and creative thinking

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Through knowledge of architectural millwork
  • 5-10+ years of Estimating experience and knowledge of construction materials and methods
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Engineering, drafting or production experience a plus
  • Excellent math and computer skills
  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft office 365 other common office applications
  • Knowledge and experience with estimating software
  • Strong communication skills and follow through
  • Self-starter with hands-on approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate team building

Project Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise all project activities on assigned project
  • Representing the Client’s or organization’s interests.
  • Provide advice on management of project
  • Make sure all Safety Standards are met
  • Making sure all the aims/goals of the project are met
  • Making sure the quality standards are met
  • Directly work with Project Superintendent/Foreman to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications
  • Develop and maintain overall project construction schedule including pre-job planning, scheduling, document management and other tasks as assigned.
  • Furnish submittals for approval
  • Identify and create new business relationships
  • Identify and offer solutions to problems
  • Understanding the project plans and specifications
  • Produce and track change orders
  • Using IT systems to keep track of cost and progress
  • Recruiting specialists and subcontractors
  • Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained

Millwork Shop Assistant

This position will touch on all aspects of the millshop, from loading and unloading material to storing and loading finish cabinets for delivery. Includes organizing the shop, learning CNC operations, building and laminating cabinets and assisting other cabinet makers in building tasks

This is an entry level position. Any abilities below are a plus

  • Ability to work from drawings
  • Ability to assemble cabinets
  • Ability to work with plastic laminate
  • Ability to operate basic woodworking equipment and hand power tools
  • Must work well with other people
  • Knowledge of MIOSHA/OSHA rules and work safely at all times
  • Finishing a plus but not required

 

Draftsmen / Project Manager Millwork

Craftsman Carpenter

Cut, shape, assemble of melamine board and/or solid surface materials. Using a variety of tools to shape and fabricate for custom cabinets countertops, sills and sinks.

  • Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Assemble wood products/cabinets.
  • Set up or operate machines, including power saws, edge banders, sanders, router, to cut, mold, or shape wood, laminate or solid surfaces.
  • Follow the specifications of articles to be constructed based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral or written instructions.
  • Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
  • Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
  • Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.
  • Reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing.
  • Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools.
  • Attach decorative or functional accessories to products.
  • Trim, sand, or scrape surfaces or joints to prepare articles for finishing.
  • Trim excess material from workpieces.
  • Drill holes in parts, equipment, or materials.

CNC / Edgebander Operator

  • CNC experience with Homag (Centateq N-300) and C.R. Onsrud (193G16D).
  • Edgebanding experience with Homag edgebanding machine.
  • Experience with CNC and CAD in a custom cabinet shop environment a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret cabinet drawings/prints.
  • Dependable -on time ready to work.
  • Ability to work well with others and alone.

Advantage Millwork CNC operator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a (brand) CNC machine.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards
  • Maintain equipment and supplies

Job Duties:

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials and specifications.
  • Work with Production Manager on inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
  • Run CNC by entering instructions in an efficient manner and best use of material.
  • Set-up CNC to operate in an efficient and productive manner
  • Load CNC feed by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity Production Manager / Project Managers by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
